About the Project

We're developing pathway and bikeway routes in Marlborough Park, Albert Park Radisson Heights, Penbrooke Meadows, Forest Heights, Forest Lawn, Dover, Southview and Erin Woods. These communities were selected because they align with Calgary's established Pathway and Bikeway Network. The proposed route designs aim to better connect Calgarians to their homes, work, school, parks and services. When routes are improved, they provide safe, healthy, and affordable travel choices for people of all ages and all abilities, year-round.

We are working to design pathways and bikeways in Ward 9 and Marlborough Park are to reduce traffic safety incidents, to get kids to school safely to better connect residents to their important destinations. Data shows these communities experienced higher numbers of injury collisions between 2017 and 2021. Designing safer pathways and bikeways and addressing missing connections will allow for a safe and comfortable choice for everyone when exploring their neighbourhood.

Phase 1- Discover: is now complete. Public input from this phase is being considered alongside factors such as cost, environmental impact, technical limitations, and long-range plans to inform design options that will be presented in Phase 2- Explore coming in Winter 2025.We are seeking input from June 7 - 2uly 14, 2025 for our Phase 2: Explore Design Options. Public input from Phase 1: Discover was considered with factors such as cost, environmental impact, technical constraints, and policies that influence our designs, which are now available to share with you. We now want to hear what you think of the designs we came up with and how they fit into your community and serve your needs.

At the end of each engagement phase, a What We Heard report summarizing feedback will be produced and made available on this page. You can read the Phase 1: Discover What We Heard Report here.

This input will be used to finalize the concepts and later this year we will share the final design options we chose and why, confirm a budget and construction timeline.
