Windsor Park

North-South Connector

During Phase 1 of engagement, we gathered input on the existing conditions and used this input to inform our design. Click here if you'd like to view a summary of the key input we received and how we propose to address it.

The proposed design in Windsor Park extends along 5 St, from 50 Ave to 58 Ave. Between 50 Ave and 55 Ave, two options are proposed:

  • Option A includes road closure north of 55 Ave that would reduce traffic volumes on 5 St so that it is more suitable for a bike boulevard.
  • Option B includes a multi-use path on the west side of the road. To provide space for this, the road surface is narrowed and on-street parking on the west side of 5 St is removed.

South of 55 Ave to 58 Ave, a multi-use path on the west side of the road is proposed (narrowing road surface and removing on-street parking on the west side of 5 St). On-street parking on the east side of the road is maintained from 50 Ave to 58 Ave. The map below illustrates the proposed designs.

We appreciate and acknowledge that we live, work, and play on the ancestral and traditional territories of the Blackfoot confederacy, made up of the Siksika, Piikani, Amskaapipiikani and Kainai First Nations; the Îethka Nakoda Wîcastabi First Nations, comprised of the Chiniki, Bearspaw, and Goodstoney First Nations; and the Tsuut’ina First Nation. The City of Calgary is also homeland to the historic Northwest Métis and to the Otipemisiwak Métis Government, Métis Nation Battle River Territory (Nose Hill Métis District 5 and Elbow Métis District 6). We acknowledge all Indigenous people who have made Calgary their home.
