Background

Parks are great places for people in Calgary to enjoy nature and spend time with others. That's why we’re working on making old and less-used parks and playgrounds better for everyone. When old playgrounds need replacing, we work with the community to decide how the playground can be improved with new equipment or reimagined with new park amenities, like picnic tables and areas for recreation.

Through the Parks And Playground Amenities Program (PAPA) and the Playground Optimization Program, we’ve chosen parks in the community that can be improved with either new playground equipment or reimagined with new park amenities that invite gathering and and game play.

Proposed Changes

In Dover, we are making 11 playspaces better. 6 of these areas will get new playground features, and the other 5 will be changed to be more useful park features. On the map, the places with green markers are the playgrounds where we plan to put in new equipment. The places with blue markers are the parks that will get new park features.
