You're Invited!

Providing your input online is great, but coming to an in-person session is still the best option. A four day Transit Oriented Development (TOD) workshop is taking place between October 17 and 22. This workshop is also known as a Design Charrette.

What's a design charrette?

Design Charrettes are multi-day collaborative design workshops where community members and technical experts come together to design the TOD for your neighbourhood.

Join us for one night or all four, it’s up to you. And yes - snacks and light refreshments will be provided!

Something to keep in mind:

We understand that there are concerns amongst some community members around the redevelopment of the Highland Park Golf Course. These lands will be considered during the workshop, however, it is important to consider the community as a whole. The objective of the workshop is to build a community concept plan for the area around the future LRT station including the Greenview Industrial Area east of Centre Street. This is your chance to identify where you want to see better transportation connections, open space and development around many parts of your community located in the 40 Avenue N station area.

DAY 1: ISSUES. Monday, October 17. 6:30 - 9:00 p.m.

Centre Street Church (West Campus). 4120 Centre Street N., Calgary, AB

You are the expert of your community and we need to learn from your experience. Tell us what’s great in your community and what could be great after Green Line LRT is built. Tell us what concerns/challenges you see in your community, and what aspirations you have after the Green Line LRT is built.

Registration is encouraged but not required. RSVP now!

DAY 2: IDEAS. Tuesday, October 18. 6:30 - 9:00 p.m.

Centre Street Church (West Campus). 4120 Centre Street N., Calgary, AB

This is the feature event of the Design Charrette! Play a simple and fun board game with other community members to design your own TOD concept. Professional designers will really look at and use your ideas.

Space is limited to 64 participants and registration is required. Don't delay - RSVP now!

DAY 3: CONCEPTS. Thursday, October 20. 6:30 - 9:00 p.m.

Centre Street Church (West Campus). 4120 Centre Street N., Calgary, AB

Of all the ideas shared by you and others during the board game, prioritize those that you feel are most important. This will help the TOD team to get to the best TOD plan possible. Plus: Go to one of the design stations, where a team member will draw your ideas for the station area in real time!

Registration is encouraged but not required. RSVP now!

DAY 4: SOLUTIONS. Saturday, October 22. 12:00 p.m. - 2:00 p.m.

Centre Street Church (West Campus). 4120 Centre Street N., Calgary, AB

Review with other community members the result of our collective effort. At 11:45 a.m. the project team will make a short presentation of the draft TOD Concept Plan based on input from community-experts (you) and technical-experts (project team), followed by Q&A. Feedback will be collected and included in the final report back to Council.

Drop in to the final presentation of all your hard work. RSVP is not required, and neither is participation in past events. We'll see you there!
