About the Project

In 2012, Calgary Transit created RouteAhead, a 30-year plan that provides direction for planning and investing in Transit in Calgary. RouteAhead guides planning for Transit infrastructure projects and investments to improve transit service and the customer experience, to ensure development throughout the city consistently prioritizes access to safe, reliable public transportation.

RouteAhead was originally developed through extensive consultation with Calgarians, identifying their priorities and values, and using them to inform every part of the plan.

Knowing that priorities change over time, RouteAhead built in a schedule to refresh the plan every ten years, to ensure it still meets the changing needs of Calgarians, and stays up-to-date with technological advancements and social needs and priorities.

As part of this refresh we want to once again speak with Calgarians to make sure the RouteAhead is moving in the right direction for the next 30 years.

Share Your Feedback Here

We are inviting Calgarians, transit customers, organizations and businesses to share perspectives and ideas on your priorities for Calgary Transit's next 30 years. We want to understand what Calgary Transit means for you to help inform the priorities for RouteAhead.

  • Calgarians

Share your feedback here if you are a Calgary resident or transit customer.

  • Organizations and Businesses

Share your input here if you are representing the interests of your organization, members, clients, business or customers.

concerned. says:

Transit needs to make pay gates at the Ctrain stations so only paying customers have access. It would fix the kind of ppl on trains.

Dutchy says:

Monday to Friday could have earlier first busses to be on time at work. Busservice at the other side of stoney trail. Wrangleroad area.

There should be more peace officers on board. There are too many people using drugs/being disruptive, it doesn't feel safe anymore.

The trains are pretty consistent during rush hour.

What could Calgary Transit do to improve the customer experience?

26 September, 2022

Please make the transit App more usable. If I don't know what the station I want to get to is called it is completely useless right now.

Build more train lines! Get the green line built all the way north and south!

Develop areas around stations so people want to be there: increasing amenity accessibility, transit utility, and personal safety.

Integrating micromobility options into the city's network would be great. eScooters and eBikes for last mile service would be awesome.

Turnstiles will just move real people from the train platform to beside the train platform... Not solving anything or helping anyone...

23 September, 2022

Transit User 113 says:

We need to implement housing first policies to help those experiencing homelessness and drug addiction.

23 September, 2022

Build TODs with affordable housing. Shopping centres like Signal Hill / Westhills, Shawnessy, 130th Ave SE could all be TODs.

1. Start to provide honest, accurate and complete info to citizens. 2. Scrap the Greenlie, or at least only build from the core to the South
