Project Overview
The project will expand parking at Pearce Estate Park to help accommodate the busy summer months. This expansion is a recommendation in the Harvie Passage Facility Enhancement Plan. The expansion aims to increase parking and reduce traffic congestion while minimizing the impact on local residents.
Project Goals
- Expand and optimize parking for park visitors.
- Reduce parking spill out into surrounding streets.
- Improve safety, circulation, and accessibility.
- Integrate sustainable stormwater solutions.
- Respect floodway and ecological conditions.
- Enhance visitor experience and preserve natural character.

About the Engagement Process
This project is being directed through the Bend in the Bow and Harvie Passage Facility Enhancement Plan (2023). The recommendations in this document were shaped through engagement with input from the public, park users, and key interest holders. Ongoing community input is essential to identifying challenges, surfacing local knowledge, and guiding design decisions. Your voice will help ensure the final design reflects community priorities and enhances the experience for everyone who uses, and lives near, Pearce Estate Park.
Concept 1

Concept 1A will provide 64-71 additional parking stalls and flow out through the alleyway to exit; Option 1B will provide approximately 60 additional parking stalls and turn around to flow back out and exit from the main parking lot.
Concept 2

Concept 2A will provide 88-100 additional parking stalls and flow out through the alleyway to exit; Option 2B will provide approximately 84 additional parking stalls and flow back out through the lot to exit from the main parking lot.
Low Impact Development
The project will utilize Low Impact Development (LID), which is an approach to land development that works with nature to manage stormwater runoff where it falls.
LID preserves and recreates natural landscape features, and in this project will create the rain garden (4) and new vegetation area (5) detailed in the concept images above.
