Workshop Registration
Join us for a collaborative half-day workshop on housing equity, part of Home is Here – The City of Calgary’s Housing Strategy. These workshops take place on November 5th and November 12th and you can register at the link below:
The purpose of these workshops is to better understand the challenges and opportunities facing equity-serving housing providers, and to co-create solutions on how The City can improve policies, funding, and partnerships to advance housing equity. By the end of the sessions, you’ll help shape a set of actionable recommendations that will guide The City’s housing equity work and inform future programs and funding starting in 2026.
Project Overview
This initiative aims to identify and address the housing gaps experienced by equity-deserving populations and the systemic and operational barriers faced by non-profit organizations that serve them. The project supports Home is Here – The City’s Housing Strategy, with a focus on advancing 4.A.1 and 4.A.2 under Outcome 4.
Please click here to learn more on Outcome 4 or in the Important Links section (Implementing Housing Strategy) for additional information on the ongoing work around all 5 strategies.

Why This Matters
Calgary’s housing crisis is not just about supply – it's about who is being left behind and why. The City’s 2023 Housing Needs Assessment and other City-led research have consistently found that equity-deserving Calgarians continue to face systemic and persistent barriers to safe, suitable and affordable housing.
Without targeted action, these gaps will continue to grow, deepening housing insecurity and eroding social cohesion. This project provides a critical foundation for building inclusive policies, strategic funding models, and sustainable partnerships that deliver better housing outcomes for all Calgarians.
