Inglewood Area Redevelopment Plan

The City of Calgary has drafted a new Area Redevelopment Plan (ARP) for Inglewood, which will account for the new Green Line LRT station.

An ARP provides rules and guidance for the type of development that makes sense in a given area – how to complement the local character, what level of density makes sense and how to transition from high to low density, or residential to commercial.

It includes policies on land uses, building forms and densities, buildings heights, parks, transportation, contamination and housing.

Recent Engagement

The focus of the most recent phase of engagement was identifying issues, opportunities, or gaps in the plans.

Feedback was collected from the public through an online feedback form and that feedback was reviewed by the Green Line Area Redevelopment Committee (a group of community members who have volunteered to make sure that diverse community perspectives are included in the review plans). The Green Line Area Redevelopment Committee (ARC) then provided additional feedback on the Draft ARP.

The What We Heard Report combines feedback received through the online feedback form as well as feedback received by the Green Line Area Redevelopment Committee.

The City is currently reviewing the What We Heard report and will share how they plan to address issues and ideas raised by the public feedback through a What We Did report in the coming weeks. This will include identifying:

  • Which suggested ideas or changes may be incorporated directly into the ARP,
  • Which suggested ideas or changes could be incorporated into the ARP with some additional community feedback and engagement,
  • Clarification for which of the suggested ideas or changes that are already embodied in the draft ARP,
  • Which suggested ideas or changes may not be able to be incorporated into the ARP, and why.
