Digital Equity will provide a full written summary of what we have heard to date at the end of April, following the collection of your input on the actions you would like to see prioritized.

Our team will then connect with you based on how you have told us you would like to help support the next steps in our process.

Our goal is to form an advisory group that will collaboratively build the road map forward. This group will also be integral in taking key actions to bringing Calgary to digital parity.

The timeline for strategy completion is summer 2022.

Out of the ideas you shared with us during our brainstorming sessions we identified 20 specific actions that can be taken to help us address the challenges and barriers to address digital inequity in Calgary. Two such actions are already underway as part of our path towards a strategy and one action is out of scope of the Digital Equity Strategy.

The remaining 17 actions are listed below, we are seeking your input on where we all should spend our initial energies to have the greatest impact on bridging the digital divide in Calgary. Each action has been assigned a points value based on the resources that they may require to deliver. Resources are inclusive of cost, complexity, and human power.

You have been allotted 20 points to use to virtually “fund” the actions you would like to see happen first, this is not enough points to fund every action. You can choose to spend all your points or vote on a single action for 1-5 points.
