Overview

Every year on July 1, Calgarians and visitors gather downtown for Canada Day. The free and family-friendly City of Calgary event showcases our country's culture and Calgary’s diverse community. Each year, we feature an Indigenous showcase and powwow, cultural performances and activities, live music, fireworks and more. Check out Canada Day 2024 for a sneak peek at what's planned for this year.

Canada Day is a time to come together to celebrate community. Whether it’s sharing in the culture of those who move here from all over the world, honouring the rich traditions of Indigenous history and culture or enjoying rockin’ Canadian talent on the main stage, there’s so much to experience.

How can you help?

Whether you attend often or haven’t attended for a while, this is your opportunity to tell us what’s important to you on Canada Day and what an ideal event looks like.

Help make a Canada Day for everyone by sharing your views below. The survey closes on July 31, 2024. Your feedback will be used to shape Calgary's Canada Day celebrations in 2025 and beyond.

At the end of the survey, you’ll have the option to enter a prize draw for food truck vouchers valid at this year’s Canada Day event and City of Calgary recreation and golf gift cards.

Why are we doing this?

It’s been more than 10 years since we heard from Calgarians about our city’s annual Canada Day event. We want the many different interests and backgrounds of Calgarians to be reflected in our Canada Day celebrations by inviting everyone to have their say.
