Overview
Every year on July 1, Calgarians and visitors gather downtown for Canada Day. The free and family-friendly City of Calgary event showcases our country's culture and Calgary’s diverse community. Each year, we feature an Indigenous showcase and powwow, cultural performances and activities, live music, fireworks and more. Check out Canada Day 2024 for a sneak peek at what's planned for this year.
Canada Day is a time to come together to celebrate community. Whether it’s sharing in the culture of those who move here from all over the world, honouring the rich traditions of Indigenous history and culture or enjoying rockin’ Canadian talent on the main stage, there’s so much to experience.
Public engagement
The City conducted public engagement from June 2 to July 31, 2024 to find out what’s important to Calgarians on Canada Day and what an ideal event looks like. Thank you to everyone who participated in the engagement in-person and/or online!
