About the project

Every four years, The City creates a budget that guides how we deliver services Calgarians use every day. We are now building the 2027–2030 Business Plans and Budgets, and we want to hear from you.

How your feedback will be used

Your input will help us understand what Calgarians value, what services matter most and where we should focus our efforts. We’ll use your feedback along with other information — like Council’s Strategic Priorities, department plans, economic data and research like the Survey of Calgarians — to build a budget that is responsible and reflects the needs of Calgarians.

A What We Heard report of this feedback will be shared publicly and provided to Council in July 2026 to support their decision-making process.

How you can participate

You can take part from March 18 to April 15 by answering the questions below and by visiting pop-up events throughout the city.

Calgarians will also have a chance to speak directly to Council during budget Public Submissions in November 2026.

What are the 2027-2030 Business Plans and Budgets?

The 2027–2030 Business Plans and Budgets are made up of plans and budgets created by each City department. Together, they explain how The City plans to deliver services and programs and spend money over four years.

Each department prepares:

  • A business plan that explains what it does and what it plans to deliver.
  • A budget that shows the funding needed to deliver those services and programs.

These department plans and budgets are combined into the 2027-2030 Business Plans and Budgets, which is reviewed by City Administration and then presented to Council for consideration and approval.
