A Land Use Amendment Application and Development Permit was submitted to rezone two properties located at 2107 34 Avenue S.W. and 2101 34 Avenue S.W. to allow for a mixed-use, multi-residential development of up to 20 metres (6 storeys), with retail on the main floor and 67 units on the upper levels. The proposed height would be an increase from the current maximum of 14 metres on the west parcel—#2107, and 10 metres on the east parcel—#2101). More information regarding the application can be found here.

On July 3, City Administration presented the application to City Council during its scheduled Public Hearing. This application was unanimously approved by Council, and the parcel of land is now included as part of the Marda Loop Area Redevelopment Plan (ARP). During discussion at Council, Councillor Woolley and Councillor Pincott committed to working with City Administration on the Development Permit design to improve the privacy for the adjacent neighbours to the west.

The Development Permit was approved on July 20, 2017. More information regarding the Development Permit can be found here.
