We need you!
Are you passionate about helping shape your community for you and future generations? Are you interested in working with fellow citizens, community association members, local builders/developers and city planners to discuss growth and change in the South McKnight Communities?
As a community representative of the working group, you will participate in dialogue as it pertains to someone who lives in the area and brings your lived-in community perspectives and viewpoints to the table, and act as sounding board for The City as we develop a new policy plan for the area.
Apply to be a community representative and join the South McKnight Communities Local Area Planning Working Group.
A local area plan envisions how an area might evolve over the next 30 years. It identifies the most suitable locations for future development and provides clear guidance for new projects, investments, and local improvements.
If approved by Council, a local area plan becomes statutory policy (adopted as an area redevelopment plan). While it does not alter existing zoning or allocate budget, it informs decisions when proposals for land use changes, new developments, or local improvement projects are brought forward and considered.

- Local residents including long-term or new homeowners and renters (balance of youth, young professionals, families, singles and seniors).
- People who work in the area.
- People who own property in the area.
