We need you!

Are you passionate about helping shape your community for you and future generations? Are you interested in working with fellow citizens, community association members, local builders/developers and city planners to discuss growth and change in the Carburn Communities?

As a community representative of the working group, you will participate in dialogue as it pertains to someone who lives in the area and brings your lived-in community perspectives and viewpoints to the table, and act as a sounding board for The City as we develop a new policy plan for the area.

The Carburn Communities Local Area Planning Working Group will include people from a range of backgrounds who will provide feedback, consider input provided by the broader community, and discuss concepts and ideas with City planners as the local area plan is created.

This Working Group will participate in seven focused workshops over the next two years and discuss:

  • The history of the area.
  • Current challenges and opportunities.
  • Key priorities and the future vision for the area’s evolution.
  • Appropriate locations for different types of new development.
  • Priorities for local area improvements and investments.
  • Refinements to the draft local area plan.


We’re looking for a broad range of people including:

  • Local residents including long-term or new homeowners and renters (balance of youth, young professionals, families, singles and seniors).
  • People who work in the area.
  • People who own property in the area.
  • Local business owners.
  • Development industry representatives.
  • Community users (from a recreation or customer perspective).
  • Education, faith, environmental, cultural or advocacy group members in the area.


The Carburn Communities Terms of Reference provides additional details about the Working Group and commitment. Review of this document and sign-off from all working group members is required.

INDUSTRY Member Working Group Application

This application is for members of the development industry only. Development industry representatives are expected to bring their knowledge and perspectives of the development industry as a whole and not to necessarily speak about an individual parcel(s) they may have interest in. Submit the application form linked below by March 24, 2026. Successful applicants will be notified via email by mid-April, 2026.
