Segment 1 (Macleod Trail S to Fairmount Drive S.E.)

Segment 1 is approximately 860m and stretches from Macleod Trail S to Fairmount Drive S.E. A multi-use path has been added on the north side of the road in the boulevard space with some parking removed and the road narrowed slightly to reduce vehicle speeds to make room for the multi-use path. In some sections, the sidewalk is removed to provide enough space for the multi-use path.

  • School Bus Loading/unloading stays the same
  • Two-way traffic continues with one lane in each direction
  • Some parking removed on the north side of the segment and locations where curb bulb-outs are added.
  • Small number of trees removed
  • A multi-use pathway is added on the north side, for location with constraints, the multi-use pathway will replace the sidewalk.
  • Street narrowed to slow vehicles
  • New pedestrian crossing at 90 Ave east of Tennis Centre access.
